Movies!

... cuz I got nothing else worth mentioning here.
I saw this film on Saturday....

It was aight. It's interesting, who knew gun running in the 80's and 90's was such a big deal. They pound it into your head how bad it is, and of course Nic Cage is as weird as always. I think it's worth a netflix. Bonus points for the cool 'from the viewpoint of a bullet' intro.

Anyone see Corpse Bride yet? I'll probably go see it this Saturday - heh, sorry Val - I've heard it's short but very entertaining. I love me the clay works.

Poker equals FUN

Went to J's house to play Texas Hold Em. My first real poker night... It was a lot of fun! I did all right, not bad for learning... I think I am slightly addicted to gambling now. Vegas, here I come!!!

Tutankhamun must have been the life of the party...

On Saturday we went to see Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was pretty cool. The presentation was excellent, and they really went in depth on his life and times.
Some of the pieces they had there were incredible. They are on loan from Egypt for a limited time, normally they never let this stuff out of their country. Unfortunately his actual sarcophagus was not there, but they did have the dagger and several other things that were buried with him. The detail was incredible seeing all that up close. Recommended!

WTF?

Side story - a chick was wearing a black baby doll T with "W T F ?" emblazoned on it at Pechanga Casino the other day. At Garbage, there was a teenage girl wearing a "Hey! Aren't you my friend on MySpace?" shirt. Slowly, nerddom takes over the world...
Anyways, did everyone see this from Nintendo? Honestly, they've become the funny lookin' kid down the street everyone laughs at. I fully expect them to announce some form of interactive toilet and/or 'revolutionary toasting machine' in the next 6 months.
Then again, I do play my DS a lot more then I do my PSP... long live Meteos!

I'm deaf now, but it was worth it!

Garbage was FREAKIN' AMAZING tonight! I had such a great time. They only performed for a about an hour and 20 minutes, so it was over way too fast. The opening band, The Start or something stupid like that, totally sucked. We were RIGHT near the stage tho, on the left side, near the speaker. I was tackling distance from Shirley. :) The speakers were so loud all I hear is ringing. I'm pretty much deaf. It was such a great concert though, Shirley sounded amazing, and the band hit every song. She totally worked the crowd, it was great to see her so up close.
I had a fantastic time, they put on such a fun show. I'm kicking myself because I didn't bring my camera as it said they weren't allowed, but people were taking photos throughout the whole show! ARGH!
Rock on Shirley!!

Neat...

Chipotle is giving burritos away to anyone who was evacuated because of Katrina. It is cool to see the positive sides of people and corporations come out during a crisis.
I gave to the Red Cross this week - with the drastic failure of our local and state/federal governments, I have no faith much would have happened without relief from agencies like this.
P.S. BEST BURRITOS EVER!

This shouldn't be funny, but it is.

MSNBC went into a Wal-Mart to observe the looting... and ran into two cops with a shopping cart "looking for looters". :)

Watch out, friends....

There's a new terror happening all over the USA. It's extremely deadly, and is prone to happening near quick-e-marts and nasty bathrooms... basically anything near a gas station.

If you think you or a friend may be experiencing this chronic disease, please call 1-800-werbeingscrewed.

Money money moneeaahhhh

Spent the night at Pachanga (big ass indian gaming casino outside SD) with D, and J&J. It was fun, the place is Vegas Lite or diet Vegas... Made $30 on fake roulette (all computerized, no dealer, no table) over a few hours... Lol
Most of the blackjack tables were $25 or $50 min, too rich for my cheap ass. Long live 25 cent roulette bets!!!
