It's that time again....

For E3! Every geek in the industry's favorite time of year. E3, the game convention in LA. Even though my game was finaling, I made it up for a few hours of the show and some good parties. Let the pics begin!
The show was a little less crowded this year - only 90,000 people crammed the LA convention center.
The performance acts were sparser, but these chicks were awesome - Korean pop/classical group with a very unique sound. They rocked!

That crazy sidewalk chalk painter guy who is always getting his pics sent around the web was there, and did a cool promo for Gears of War. I'm at the wrong angle, but you get the idea.
What's everyone playing? What's the best game at E3? :)
The PS3 and Nintendo Wii were there - the PS3 was the same size as the original xbox! LOL! The 360 had the best showing....
Sony had their own bus stop and 'neighborhood' themed PSP setup, which was cool. Some good games finally coming out for that thing.

The not-so-red carpet for the Xbox Live party at The Social Hollywood on Sunset. It was fun! Had VIP passes as TT was featured there, partied it up like mad with the open bar.TT got prime coverage, with consoles as you first walked in on either side and two more in the main area.

Amber was having fun (all redheads are named Amber on my blog, yknow).

It was a great venue!
Ended up using the 'producer' name dropping and got to meet Crystal Method. Cool guys, they were rolling like no one else... lol
On Thursday night it was the Sony party - we had fun, to say the least!

Who'sssssssssss at an open bar? WE ARE!
"This guy..... this guy is freakishly tall."

Movies!

Saw Inside Man last night. It was good! Fairly different for a Spike Lee joint. It was well done, the story is pretty interesting. I think they could have chopped about 15 minutes from it without losing much, but good nonetheless.

Also saw V for Vendetta last weekend. It was great! I enjoyed it more then I thought I would. The story is intruiging and many plot elements are very timely with what is going in the world today. Very much recommended!V was cool, although I kept expecting Hugo Weaving to break with "Missus Portmannnn". Good fight scenes!
And of course, Natalie did a great job.

BAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was going to see The Hills Have Eyes tonight ... Unfortunatley my Jeep disagreed with that idea. It decided to not start. Lovely. After hunting around for my impossible to find roadside assistance number, and gorging on junk comfort food provided by a nearby Krispy Kreme, I got towed home. Hopefully it is just the battery... We'll see. Not exactly a fun way to spend the night.

Alive, yes. Awake, no.

Work has become crazy, I'm pretty much living there at the moment and not doing a whole hell of a lot else. In any event, I made the mistake of seeing The New World on Saturday with JJ - wow, was that a painful movegoing experience. Whatever you do, avoid this assolicious movie. PAIN.
I'm thinking about getting the
Cingular 8125 - aka the HTC Wizard - just too cool.
I'm also hooked on Six Feet Under season 3 right now, such a great show, everyone is so messed up. Just like real life...

New Years crazyness in LA....

So New Years was quite the debacle. Headed up to LA Downtown for the Giant Village, got a hotel room in advance and was all ready to go.... and the damn thing was cancelled! Apparently the fire marshall didn't feel it was safe. Well, there's 15,000 PO'ed people with $80 tickets each. Black Eyed Peas and a ton of other bands/dj's were going to be there, so it sucked. Basically spent an hour scrambling trying to find something else to do at 9PM on NYE. Ended up going to the Together As One concert in the Sports Arena which Paul Van Dyk headlined - it was pretty good. Crazy ass mixed LA crowd, it was sort of a rave.... lots of fun pics below!
This is what you saw when you walked in... there were 3 areas, this was in the center of the sports arena. It was INSANE! People and more people everywhere. It was a pretty cool cultural mix, just about every variation of human was there. :)

The light shows were pretty cool. They had a fog machine but half the smoke was.... smoke. You can see a guy lighting up on the left there. Yum, 2nd hand smoke!

THIS cracked me up! So many people were tripping on E or whatever, the ravers would roam about, find someone out of their mind, and do little light shows in their face for like five minutes. LOL!! Too funny.

Well, since I'm talking about all the rampant drug use, and you couldn't be there, most people had two basic looks. First up, you have the "Zombie" raver look, as I've enacted for you below:

Then, you have the "DUUUDDEEE I'm totally blitzed... huh what?" look as noted below. Please note I studied many faces to make sure I could re-enact these with the utmost detail possible.

Heheh.

Ravers totally have the best bling. It cracks me up, from the little froggy/hello kitty backpacks, to the above sleeper joggers/massive pants with cartoon characters. The accessories were hilarious! So hilarious....

They had a whole shopping district selling all sorts of raver bling. lol

The one thing I do not like... the goddamn butterfly wings that every other girl seemed to be wearing. I kept getting poked by them while waiting in line for tickets. Listen, girls, these wings DO NOT MAKE YOU MORE ATTRACTIVE. In fact, they make you verrrryyy annoying. After about two hours of getting whacked by those things, I wanted to go on a rampage and tear all those things up... eh.

Oooh it's about to hit midnight!

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Nothing like partying with 20 or 30,000 of your closest friends....

I was wayyyy overdressed for the event. LOL!

Home for the holidays....

Just got back from OR, it was a great trip. Hit up Bend first for some snowboarding/etc. It was fun, even though the weather was fairly crappy - too warm and it rained on us alot. Did get in some good snowboarding the last day, though. Also some fun tubing and good family times. :)

Downtown Bend at night... it's purdy a lil town.

Sis & Bro in law...

Ma :)

I have no clue what I was saying here, but it seems like I was deep in thought, doesn't it? :)

TUBING! I love Mt. Bachelor, the runs are fantastic for boarding. It also helps that being in Oregon, it was so UNcrowded while we were there. The tree at home looked great!

Puppy!!! :)

Nice shot of the lake....

The huntress gazes out for her latest prey.....

This is what's left of a fresh cougar kill - a deer leg (nope, not joking... life in the country!).

A cute lil poisonous caterpiller.... of DOOM!

Awww. Happy Holidays!

By popular demand...

More party pics. :)

Cheryl rocking the leopard coat and looking very posh... no PETA people showed up with buckets of red paint though, so I guess she's not famous enough.

Ahh, the smooth burn of Rum & Coke(TM): The leading choice of underage drinkers everywhere.

Open bar + Buffet = smiles.

My favorite part of this pic is the surprised look from K. in the background. lol

Eve looked great as always, rocking the belle of the ball look.

"Hey I bet if we smoke this lamp we'll get high!"

The caption practically writes itself on this one.... lol

"Suburban playahs in da hizzouseeeeeeeeee"

Holiday Party Shenanigans!

Had the company holiday party on Friday night... it was a blast! It was held at the LaCosta Resort and Spa. Full catered buffet, open bar all night, DJ, and casino gambling with play money. :) It was great! They had a raffle at the end and gave away a bunch of prizes.

Eve, me, and Ferd - who peed a little on my shoes.
Jeff won so much money he took a poker chip bath... I can't make this stuff up, folks.
The very regal looking Josh in his tux, showing us how it's done...
Shhh, don't tell Jeff, but Jenn and I got it on.... on the dancefloor, that is!
... Jenn, stop humping my leg, seriously now....
Wil and Ben rocked da hizzouse!

Stu's last day was Friday, he's off to the wonderful world of Canadia, and is getting married to boot - Congrats man, we'll miss you!!

The afterparty was fun, and as you can tell drunk people don't know what camera to look at... Josh wasn't drunk! Well, mostly not....
